MUSIC SAMPLES
Sample 1: The assignment was to create a unique musical signature for the launch of EVO, a new media hardware mounting system from Vantage Media. It was to be a percussion driven vamp and I chose string bass as the hook voice. Time was very short and I did most of the track on a Mac laptop in the office with the producer and director pointing, clapping and suggesting ideas.

The track is 100% Garage Band, there were no real instruments injured during the recording process. It shows what you can pull off when there is no time to fiddle with sophisticated tools.
Sample 2: Here is a clip from the album “Windows” which we started at The Bunker and finished at Shangri La. Bass, drums and guitar were recorded live in one go…no headphones. That’s a mid 60’s Jazz bass through an SVT head powering EV 15s. Probably an SM57 and a passive DI going to the tape machine.

Sample 3 : This piece is a sonic impression of a formal garden. I wrote it in 1994. I’ve never had a chance to record it so I used it as my intro to Cubase 4.
